Body Swap
The body on the 250 is completely rotted from salt and sand from plowing. I have a good doner truck that is a 91 F-150 extended cad. I know that the cab mounts are different (i.e. extra mounts for the extended cab), but will the wiring/cables for the dash mount up to the new interior with minimal modifications or will this be a major PITA?
As you can see from my signature, I don't mind working on my truck, and am quite handy with a welder, so cab mounts are a breeze, jut mostly concerned with the electrical and spedo stuff.
after that, the old clip (or the new clip) will bolt up, you'll have to use the core support and everything new.
the wiring is all different. if the 91 has an electric speedo, you'll have to rig something up. I don't remember the year they changed, but i am sure someone does.
as you can see, it'll be quite a project. i'd look for another donor, or an x-cab f-250 (4x4) frame. I bought a 90 f-250 4x4 frame for $500. my 85 f-250 frame was rotted pretty bad (the rear shackle brackets were almost rotted through), so your might be better off with a new frame anyways.
it is a lot of work, even when you are doing bolts, trust me. right now I am 80% on my truck. (took a '90 f-250 frame, boltedon the powertrain/drivetrain, took an 84 cab, and body, and threw it all together) it's been a year&a half now..
