I met BJ in Holts Summit MO. He was looking for a cab (it was a bust). I tagged along to see what was there and ran across this motor home.
The guy says they aren't parting out anything and they are asking $1500 for the motor home. I would guess he could be talked down. It ran when parked.
I guess the first question would be, are these the good replacement for widowmakers?
BJ texted me the guys number, so I have it. Just let me know if you are interested. I will help any way I can if someone needs them.
They are riveted so they could be Budd 72070s, 19.5" x 5.25", or Budd 89340s, 19.5" x 6.00". Either will take the 8R19.5" tires. The D70HD should be rescued too. Stu
What do those motor homes use for front brakes/hubs? Are they discs? Could they be adapted to an old Ford truck?
Later versions of the motor homes have disc brakes with the 5 x 8" hubs. I still have the set I rescued intending to investigate this before cutting bait on my big truck plan. But I now have acquired a big truck front axle that came with the Dayton adapter set and may again see whether there's a way to adapt the discs to it. Stu
