Mystery motor

I bought this motor at auction yesterday. I bought it thinking it was a SBC (dont ask why I was bidding on a chevy motor, long story) I neer really looked at what it was nor did I really care. Anyways it turns over and for 2 dollars, I wont loose money on it or find something cool for it.
-Right now I'm kinda thinking it is a really early Chrysler-

Ok, kinda lookeed in up, it is a very early LA series Chrysler motor, 273,313,318,360.

So I guess it will make a fine shelf leg....... or maybe double my money on a resale.....lol

You would probably make more on it if you sold it as a boat anchor.

Man he gave it away before I could say what it is. It is a 313 wide block with the polyhemispherical heads.
Hard to get parts for it. There are mopar nuts looking for them, but they are few and far between. I have a 318 motor in my 66 fury. with the same heads. It is a planned restoration down the road for here.

At the auction I actually had guessed a 318 wide block (one of the many guesses!)

My dad had a 313 in a fury, and he said that thing could fly.

Yep they sure do. My 66 sure did when I had it running. I parked it due to the master cylinder went. I should really soem time fix that and antique plate it for a summer.
My car has the Polyhemispherical 318 engine. It just gets up and goes. There are guys looking for these engines, but not much demand for racing, due there is not much in aftermarket parts to even bump up the power. The last year they made these engines was 66 or 67. I think they started them in 58.
I', picking up a 63 Dodge car with one in it also. Got the car for $50.00 / Not much left of the car. But I can get my money back just selling the windsheild or the nice grill. The car is rusted out. No floors left.

Sorry i do not know what is the difference. All I know is the Canadian got stuck witha 313 engine while the sstates had 318. I remember my dad had a 64 Dodge wagon with a 313 engine. I think that was the last year for them and then all were 318'
All I know is the 313 and 318 shared the same blocks. I guess the bore was different.
