Hello, should I really use 5w30 weight oil in my 4.2 litre. Seems kind of light from what I used to use in my other trucks.

It really depends on where you live. I live in arizona so I use a 15w30 in my 4.2 liter. it seems to work out good for the weather out here.

I like to use what the factory recommends. They have tested it and it works. The owners manual has a chart in the rear for what oil to use in different temp ranges.
