Cool 54 C600 feed Truck on ebay in Oregon.

A really cool looking C600 with original paint and door advertising on eBay.

Here is the link,
https://www.ebay.com/itm/1954-Ford-O...BZ680b&vxp=mtr

It has a rebuilt Yblock and new master cylinder. And the bid right now is $3.25! Reserve not met.

Aw shucks, I couldn't paint over that vintage hand painted door and hood art! It is neat!

A question I have is why is the bed or the bulk feed tank so different in color and condition?

The bed wouldn't have had the same quality paint that the cab would have been painted with. Sharp truck !

The truck would have been bought as a cab and chassis. The mixer box sourced from a company such as Farmhand, Artsway, etc. and have whatever color that company used. Whether a company truck or owned by a private rancher, its business would be conducted, for the most part behind the scenes. No need for fancy matching paint.

Interesting... I grew up on a small farm in the late 50's through the 60's and all the bulk feed trucks that delivered our chicken feed and the gas truck that filled up our tank for our trucks and tractors were brightly painted in their company colors from front bumper to the rear. I distinctly remember the blue and orange of the gas truck as they were a Gulf distributor. The feed trucks were red and grey until they were bought out by Pennfield and then they were orange and white.

The bed may have been painted to match the truck when new, but with a cheaper quality paint that was not baked on, it didn't weather as well as the Ford paint on the cab. Some aftermarket beds weren't painted at all underneath and didn't have primer under the paint they did have, so their paint doesn't hold up very well.

Yeh, I understand, you guys are probably right. I am remembering these trucks as they were in my youth, bright, shiny, colorful, and powerful.

It's at $3050 right now.
