Just curious about the DEF consumption. I have @450 miles on the F250 and the DEF gauge hasnt moved at all. Is this about right? Approx how many miles are people getting on a tank of DEF?
I had the same question. Evidently the system doesn't use a lot of the DEF fluid to do its job. My truck as almost 8,000 miles on it. The DEF gauge has been on the halfway mark for the past 2,000 miles and I have never added any fluid since I bought the truck.
I have just over 10,000 miles on mine. DEF tank was full when I bought the truck, I have added 10gal. I just had my truck serviced and the dealer filled it back up, not sure how much they added, my guess under 2 1/2gals.
I'm just over 10k and have added about 7 1/2 gallons, just under full now. As others have mentioned, DEF usage depends on how you're using the truck. Frequent or heavy towing will use it faster than unloaded.
I will say if you tow lot like I do it goes fast! Im just over 10k and have had to fill it twice my self and it had full tank when I brought it. But I say 5k of my miles is towing my 16K 5wheel.
