Happy to be back in a Super Duty again. I just picked up my 2017 F350 Platinum SRW on Tuesday night and am loving it so far. I'm going through the exercise of lift vs. level, 35's vs 37's, and OE wheels vs. aftermarket. I've been heavily involved in motorsports over the past 20 years, mainly with German vehicles, and have never been opposed to running spacers.
I'm leaning towards running a 2.5 Readylift level kit with 35x12.5x20 tires on the OEM wheels, but with 2" steel hub centric spacers from Fred Goeske @ Wheel Adapters. I know the Excurision guys commonly run these on to allow for late-model wheels with a narrower offset.
I know I'm going to get the world in terms of replies, so I'll put my flame suit on... Go!!!
Sorry for bumping an old thread, but I was searching for wheel spacers and came across this thread. I just got a '19 F250 and want to put some 35 x 12.50 x 20 Ridge Grapplers on it. I'm not a fan of aftermarket wheels and I really like my stock ones, but would like them to stick out a little more. Probably not as much as the pic above, but considering the 1.25" - 1.5" Bora hub centric spacers.
I tow occasionally, but not a whole bunch. Pull about a 5K lb bay boat from time to time and I do haul some feed to our ranch but I pick it up local about 35 minutes from the ranch. Usually 2k lbs of feed in the bed while towing another 4k lbs on a 16' utility trailer. I do this about 6 times a year. Do ya'll think I would have any issues?

Naw you'd be fine. Guys on the BORA instagram page pull their max capacities regularly with BORA spacers. In for pics if you do it! I've been thinking about some 1.5" BORAs to go with my stock 18's and 34" ridge grapplers
Thanks for the reply. Ill post pics when/if I do it. Picking up the truck this weekend. If I do spacers I may just go with 295/65/20 tires since they will fit on the wheel better and I can gain the extra width with the spacers. 295's are a bit taller also but have 2/32 less tread depth. Cant decide....

a bit different since i'm on 18's BUT i wish id gone with a 325 series not a 295. although the spacers will help, nothing really beats a nice fat tire.

Just a heads up you will need to modify your OEM wheel studs as they will stick out past the spacer. I have 2" spacers and I had to take my grinder out to cut the unthreaded portion of the studs off for a flush fitment.

Sheesh even on the 2" ones huh? this was common on the 1.25" ones for the Titans. The stock wheels don't have any room on the backsides huh? Some makes have little concave pockets behind the wheel.

You may be right about a recessed area behind some wheels but the machine cast aluminum 20" wheels were flat. It was literally just the tip, approximately the width of the grinder disc on the outside of the spacer.

I’m not sure if this is a fair comparison but I had a Jeep and on the forums it was regular for spacers to cause major issues. Literally wheels coming off. If you drive on the road only it’s probably fine but any offroad and I wouldn’t go near spacers due to the different stress you can put on the hub etc.

Installation needs to be done with loctite and only torqued with a torque wrench. IMO the hub stress is no different then a guy running a deeper offset wheel. I've seen a few of those stories on a couple forums as well, the same issue: shops zipped them on with an impact and the torque was never checked. I see more rock crawlers use spacers then anyone else

Well that's disappointing, but I was wondering if that would be an issue since I was wanting the 1.25 - 1.5 inch spacers. I figured the studs may stick out. I definitely don't want to go cutting the OEM studs on a brand new truck just so I can put some spacers on. I guess I'll consider going with 35" x 12.50 tires for the extra width and forget about the spacers all together, unless someone has any other suggestions.
