I finally found the truck that I have been looking for, a 2016 f250 platinum with 6.2 gasser. I have a tablet with torque pro and want to know what pids I should monitor. I currently have pids for diesel but decided to go with gas seeing I really dont need a diesel and the problems that can come with it. I just love the way the 6.2 moves and sounds. Any other info or inputs are welcomed.Thanks.
The 6.7L has many things you might want to monitor and aren't represented as a gauge on the dash. For the gasser, I would probably keep to a similar theme, stuff that the other gauges doesn't tell me. How about:
individual tire pressure (the dummy indicator built into the dash doesn't help much)
Oil life % (or miles since oil change)
Warm-up indicators (so you don't hammer the gas it before it reaches temperature)
System voltage (no indicator on dash)
Other sensor readings to diagnose fault codes
Compass is always helpful
For the 6.7L I monitor my DEF fluid level, Soot % Levels (so I know when a regen is coming up), a regen on/off indicator (so I know when it's done), the EGT sensors told me how my driving affects regen performance, distance since last regen (so I know how driving affects soot levels), the oil life, and a compass.
Awesome, thanks. I figured there wasn't much to monitor, at least not as much as the diesel. I just didn't know if there were certain pids that the torque pro would do a better job then the factory gauges or idiot lights. Thanks again. I'm picking up the truck tomorrow, and just love the way it drives and pulls during the test drive, it's my first 3/4 ton, had 2 -1/2 ton,yes both fords.
