Question is where you guys are running the cables to? I using a receiver hitch mount from my 2008. In the 08 I ran the cables to the passenger battery. On this truck, there is a post for the positive side, but no post for the negative side. Not sure where to put the negative cable. Any ideas

Im doing this right now. I’ve come to the conclusion that in order to connect it right, replace the battery with a four post battery and put the winch wiring on the two new studs.
I have a winch on my jeep hooked to the side posts and also had the same setup on my F150, it worked for me almost 20 years now. I kinda remember someone saying it was bad but i figured if it have dual post why not use them after i thought that was the point of them.
Definately the positive post on the battery on the passenger side. As for the negative, remember the alternator output and all the electronics are monitoring the battery voltages and producing power accordingly. The ground should be to frame and it should be well done. This is how you prevent from damaging circuits, To the alternators, causing issues with the electronics. This is not an old jeep or an old ford, it's a brand new one and far more sophisticated than days of old. I would consult the upfitter a manuals. There was a post for high idle which had options for charge protect, stages of PTO operation ect. Best to consult for winch and or snowplow installation to be sure this is wired up right, and don't have issues down the road.
Just went out and viewed my two batteries. The passenger side has the post with Two Red wired coming off the Positive post. The Negative Post has no Feature to bolt down any wire. Now, on the Drivers side, there is a feature for a bolt-down on the Negative post, whereas the Positive Post has nothing.
My battery terminals are exactly the same. Wondering if ford wants to connect plows and winches that way? Thanks for the body builder article, but it specifically says to connect directly to the battery which isn't possible without changing terminals. I can't seem to find the answer, but will keep looking. Don't want to screw anything up, these trucks are definitely not like my old jeeps! And I'm glad, so much nicer to drive
Just talked to the dealer and they said to use the positive post and splice into the negative cable. I don't really like that idea, so I will prob either ground to frame or drill the terminal and place a post in it. Ford has to have something specific somewhere to address this. Especially for plows. I just haven't found it yet
I decided to take my F450 to a 4x4 shop. Then after hearing all of their options, I decided to ground to the frame and run the positive to a solenoid or relay then directly to the battery stud. If someone knows better please sound off!

out of curiosity, why the relay? Did they give u a good reason?
SuperWinch Install video says to isolate the winch from the battery with a relay, solenoid etc.
Yes, I viewed the Super Winch Video.... interesting. Wondering if the Relay is a proprietary item for their winch. It leads you to believe it was supplied for the install from Super Winch in the box. Warn installation instructions just say to connect straight to the battery. No mention of a solenoid or is one supplied.
The difference between the two manufacturers installation instructions may have something to do with the Relays itself on the Winch motors(?).
Just visited the SuperWinch site.... Under parts nothing is listed for any of the winches for a Solenoid as shown in the Video. Guessing that Solenoid is or has been eliminated from the installation process at SuperWinch.
