It could depend on how quality is measured in bug deflector. I think I've read that one of the more popular ones has an issue of the metal fasteners rusting.
Last 3 trucks I've gone with AVS Aeroskin. Stick directly to the hood with double sided tape. Dozens upon dozens of trips through the car wash. No problems.
I've gotten to the point that I do not like the looks of a deflector that screws to the hood or uses any kind of brackets. Too bulky for me.

How far up on the hood does it come? Does it cover the lettering? I have been considering the tuffskin inserts for the SUPERDUTY, but would not need that, if a deflector is just goingto cover it up.

I believe the aeroskin's one was pulled, the tape was getting dirt stuck to it and scratching paint. Might find that post through a search.
I don't know how anyone would know this. That tape sticks fantastic. You aren't going to pull the deflector off without damaging it in my experience. I let 'em go with the truck when I trade. Same with stick on window visors.
Who makes the highest quality bug deflectors that will fit a 2017 F450?
50/50 on getting one for my truck also. Lund Aeroskin has a Ford part number and is $89 bucks...the other Ford deflector is around $159 bucks and has the free rust brackets to mount!! Rumor has it that Ford engineers have been working round the clock to correct this problem!!

Yeah, I felt silly after I asked the question. Post question, THEN step outside to look at the truck, and see, there is not way a bug deflector does not cover those up.

No problem at all. Some guys want the letters on the hood to be seen, others don't care.
I guess I fall into the latter group.

IT is my wife's truck, so she will get final say. She has mentioned a bug deflector so as to not need to clear the windshield as much, but when we saw the inserts, she was very excited (until she found out they down make them in Purple). Its only a matter of time till I come home from work and see a 'Silly Boys, Trucks are for Girls' sticker in the back glass.
I was looking at the Ford Accessory one for my F350 that is smoke and is an AVS Aeroskin. It has the "Superduty" embossed in it and can still apply the Tuffskin inserts to that (which is my plan).
