So... been to the thinking the hose from the oil cooler to the egr delete is leaking. I always see a puddle under the pass side of the truck after i drive it. So looked it up and 3/4 hose and clamps is what i need. One clamp is simple to get to. The other is not. After being highly frustrated i think hey why not make a simple mod and just cut the piping....
So now after cutting out the piping the part that goes to the intake is very loose. I didnt install this delete. It was on the truck but looks pretty similar to others. Did i majorly screw my self here or can i reroute the coolant away from the intake all together? Bout to beging searching but figured id ask. Id prefer to not pull the intake this weekend as i dont have the parts gathered to put it back together
I hate those things, mine already spang a leak on me and I've seen several others. This is why I recommend the Dieselsite EGR delete, no need to mess with that hose. I actually plan on installing one on mine when I restud it again.
You're better off not disrupting the flow of coolant and pulling the intake to fix it. Atleast that's what I'd do.
I watched about 20videos last night on oil cooler/turbo/intake etc. R&r. I apparently have a flow pro or similar egr delete which is a 2 piece setup vs a 1 piece. What i noticed from feeling around under the intake with my fat fingers is that i could not find bolt heads. After watching videos i saw that in oem trim the egr cooler is bolted in from the bottom but the bolts are tightened from the top. So i might be in luck today. As for delete kits this one was on the truck. When i had my brown 06 i used to carry arp studs and a welded egr cooler. Ive literally had those studs and welded cooler longer than any of my 6.0 trucks. That though will be my delete as i should never have a problem with emissions
On mine im honestly not sure if it mught have been leaking from the oring or the hose. What i did find is the push on fitting from the original blue hose is what they clamped the hose too. Which likely was leaking. After the sawzall the oring is definately leaking
Oring was trash and brittle. Went to vatozone. I have $20 in rewards there. Im probably going to have to buy blinker fluid from them since they havent had any little bs stuff ive needed. Thank goodness for orileys picked up 3 orings. 5 bucks. Maybe ill be driving the flat bed next week.
