Need help on my 53

This probably not the right place to post this. If not I apologize and the moderators can remove it. But I really need help with repairing all the rust in my 53 F-100 cab. This is my Santa vehicle and I have missed the last to Christmas seasons being able to drive it. I am looking for some auto tech school close to my area that needs a project for their students to work on or someone close enough to me that can help me work on it. I live in Independence Missouri.

Pappy north of you is a prison and they have a auto repair class. One of the instructors had the boys do a truck for him. I do not remember the name of the prison but check it out they did a super job. Also check out the tech schools and even enroll your self so you can help. I know where you can get a good cab for 2500.00 bucks and that is way less than you will have in one if you do body work. pm me

Wow! $2500.00? Really?

Pappy, check your local high schools and community colleges. But I would not expect them to be able to keep to a time table . . . particularly one so short. You might see it by next summer.

There are also community workshops springing up all over the country. You have a couple near you. Sometimes members will take on projects. Ours is pretty active with that type of thing here in Northville, MI.

Pappys53,
I’m heading off tomorrow to look at a 53-56 Ford stash in central MO. Would you be interested in a good cab if I find one. The guy says he’s got several. He’s asking $600 per cab.

If they are halfway decent cabs, that would be the way to go.
Of course, learning how to repair your cab would be cool. Although I know I don't currently have time for that learning experience.
