going back to sealed beams?

If I buy new replacement composite headlights from A1 Auto (hi, sponsor!) then I'll have slightly better light on the road because my existing headlights are dulled in the Texas sun. But it would still only be DOT halogen 1990s lighting.

BUT, if I ditch the aero lights, and put in buckets from an older van with sealed beams, then I could run Truck-Lite LED lamps in there. I've heard that the Truck-Lite LEDs really light up the road.

Has anybody BTDT? Is it possible to just get the sealed beam buckets at a junk yard and install them? Or did Ford change the van?

Is this the '99 in your sig? Gonna check LMC and see if they have an option for sealed beams from the factory. It may be a chevy I'm thinking about.

Yep. I'm surfing junkyards now. Looks like SB buckets run under $50 but will those buckets bolt/spring right in, and will adjustment screws have perches?

BTDT with HID, ran them for years in yurrup, but now I'm planning to leapfrog directly to LEDs. No high voltage, less heat, more future compatible.

These light do look VERY cool. I didn't dare look at the cost.
