I am back and forth on a 17 vs 18 Lariat Ultimate. I have the sunroof in my 11 and not only do I never use it, it takes up a ton of headroom. I can save quite a bit on a 17 in the coming weeks and months, but will be stuck with the glass roof. Anybody have info on how much headroom you give up to have it?
The main issue is with the middle.back seat. 6'+ hits the roof. I suspect 5'9" or so would touch. No issue with the side seats, as they squish down a lot more.
I am 6'8" and can assure you the front seats have ample headroom with the sunroof, I am very happy. I am sitting in my truck now and see that headroom in the rear middle would be low, but I will never be back there so I don't care!
The #1 primary concern with any of my vehicle purchases is headroom, everything else is way down the list.

I am 6' even. The reason I don't have a sunroof is because of NO headroom. I must sit higher in the cab than everybody else out there! I adjust my seat so that I feel comfortable in the cab to my surroundings, I don't wear a hat because it would hit the headliner. I would love to modify the wheel tilt to even a lower position for comfort. This is not the most comfortable Ford I have owned.
I should clarify that I adjust the seat all the way down, I have to do this with all vehicles, no choice. So with that said, lots of headroom with the seat down

With the seat all the way down, how does the steering wheel fit you? Are you able to use the door rest or console for your elbow/arm?
Yes I use the console and door armrest. Steering wheel is fine, I tip it all the way up (because long legs and it will hit my knees if tipped down). Is it perfect, no, but tall guys suffer in all mass produced vehicles (and clothing).
No headroom issues at all. The panoramic gives you the feel of an even larger cabin. When I close it, it feels dark and smaller. I keep it half open most of the time, can't imagine not having it.

Ditto. I am 6'7" and have no issues with the sunroof. Mine was tinted which is very nice on hot sunny days. Just for fun, I closed the sunroof shade just to get the "normal" experience. Took, oh, 5 seconds to re-open it!
As for seating, my seat is down a little bit and tilted up as well. Center console and arm rest is in a perfect driving position. There is a reason I drive a big truck instead of a Honda Fit and leg/head room are the primary reasons.
