just rebuilt 1406 edelbrock on a 400 i just rebuilt earlier this year. It starts up and revs fine in park but in drive it wants to die when you even think about moving the pedal more than an inch. Any idea??
Dave145- I rebuilt the carb when i bought it, first time ever doing one so it is possible i installed it wrong.
HoustonDave- Cant really compare how it use to be to now. I did a full rebuild and it has a different cam, intake, and a four barrel. It idles fine wherever i set it to. I dont think I have any vacuum leaks that im aware of, but i will spray some ether around tomorrow.
LOOK DOWN THE THROAT OF THE CARB, OPEN THE LINKAGE, GAS SHOULD SHOOT OUT!!! If not there is a problem, follow up for additional help and if you would like it to run right, reinstall that edelbrock in the trash and put a holley on. A holley 500 probably would run harder than the edelbrock 600.
