Torque converter just failed. Which one do i buy
Ive got a 1995 f150 4.9 e4od 4x4 4.56 gears 35" tires. My factory TC just failed. I wheel it regularly and i live in the mountains of Colorado, where no road is flat. Im getting a shift kit (any recommendations), boost valve, TC, and adding the HD cooler. Plus filter and fluid. With my oversized tires and lift, I need something Heavy Duty. Any recommendations?

I am quite interested in how you determined that the torque converter has failed.
I had a failure with an E4OD a few years back that I suspected was a torque converter failure. Fluid looked and smelled fine. Transmission was working well, was cruising down the highway with the cruise on when the vehicle started to slow and the engine began to rev. I ended up replacing the transmission.
I did discuss the possibility of the converter failure with the rebuilders and they acknowledged that the converter was something of a weak link with internal spot welds which could fail. They recommended a "billet snout" converter. Application was a small bus on an E350 chassis with a 7.3 IDI. It has worked flawlessly.

A 'billet' converter is what was installed by the company I bought my remanufactured transmission from. I don't really know what was installed though; they didn't give me a detailed invoice, or itemized parts list.
Depending on what stall speed you want I suggest FM64X/FM64XB(high stall, seen them called both part numbers), or FM64LX/FM64LXB(low stall, ditto on the second part number). They are orderable at just about any parts house, or online. Shop around to get the best price.

It started to shudder, then literally as i pulled in my driveway it started to shreek and rumble and sounded like marbles in a tin can. One of my buddies knew right away what thr sound was and hes pretty familiar with ford trannys. I called Monster Transmission and they set me up with a HD low stall converter.
