Over the past year I purchased basic auto body tools for work on my 54 restoration. The paint gun I bought for primer is a 3M Accuspray with the PPS disposable cup liner system. I also picked up a standard table top gun holder. The first time I painted I found that the gun stand was not compatible with the gun. It would kinda work without the cup on the gun but really didn't fit.
It was a PIA to hold the gun while waiting between coats of primer. Yesterday I fabricated a stand that works with or without the cup on the gun.
Nice job...I have had the same issues with the 3M gun and others. Then I got to thinking, the cup is sealed and doesn't care whether it sits upright or lays flat. So now I just lay it on the bench and forget about it. Oh yeah, I do have to put it in a holder to fill the cup, a vise works good.
