1953 front spindles

I started taking a part my front end on my 1953 f100. I am looking for a replacement spindle, but can't seem to find anything on the web for 53 yr. I see a lot of '29 to '49 parts.

Are the '29 to '49 the same spindles used on the 53 model yr? I will be looking for several other parts, so I am hoping to get a good understanding of whice parts cross over to the '53 model yr.

thx again for the help..

Hi there,

the '53 are different to the earlier models as the '49. You better look for good used ones. I can give you an adress where you could ask for such spindles if you wish. Just send me a PM.

Thanks Rico for the information...

I am going to clean up my spindles when I get both sides off and see what I have, but I wanted to ask peoples opinion...

This spindle looks to have some heat issues, like maybe from a bad bearing at one time. Any opinions on if I should replace it??

Replace it. There should be pleanty of folks that have 53-56 spindles used. Anyone doing a frontend conversion usually sells their old straight axle for around $100.
