I posted in the Raptor section, but that thread seems to be pretty dead.
I am the proud new owner of a 2012 Raptor SCREW. Tuxedo black with blue trimmed interior. I drove 6+ hours away to pick it up in Bozeman, MT, so I got a nice long drive home to accompany myself with it.
Love the ride, the power, and comfort. In the next week I'll take it to the dealership for a once-over, tire rotation, etc.
This is my first half ton in a few years.
Congrats on your new truck! Looks Great in black. I miss my 13 Race Red Raptor.
Enjoy!
I am a believer! I have a 6.7 PSD that pulls like a train, but the 6.2 seems to be faster. I wonder how much longer the NA 6.2 will last as compared to the 3.5... ? Not putting down the Eco, but a traditional v8 has a lot more history of reliability.
It has been taken care of... The interior is impeccable. There are a few small scuffs in the paint that should buff out,and a door ding. No biggy. I plan to use it as intended, so a couple small blemishes are ok with me.
Love the truck, but I didn't buy one because I wanted a longer bed. Enjoy!
I'm lucky enough to have a wonderful wife that allows me to bring home just about anything I can afford, so if I need to haul something that won't fit in the Raptor, I have an f250 for that, or even my flatbed trailer. The Raptor will be used as intended, and the short bed makes it much more capable off road. If the SCAB offered the 36 gallon tank, I'd have gotten one likely.
My 2013 FX4 has a 36 gallon tank...I didn't know a Raptor comes with a smaller tank. I picked the 6' 5" bed so that we can sleep in the back. The length has only stopped me from one creek crossing that had such steep approach and exit angles that a Raptor wouldn't have even made it through. I think the raptor is more suited for high speed off road. For that end of the spectrum I use a Chenowth DR2, but it doesn't have climate control or any creature comforts other than a 5 point harness.
