I agree with rock - diagnostics are in order. Get a fuel pressure gauge on it and check the fuel pressure - 28-30 lbs at idle, 38-40 with the vacuum disconnected from the fuel pressure regulator AND at WOT on the highway.
It seems the lean codes were caused by my lack of tightening to the band clamp around the engine side of the MAF.
Replaced the IACV and coil 7 today. Significantly improved the way the van runs. Drove several miles, no codes thrown.
Still not perfect. At idle, in gear, brakes applied, it is still bouncing a bit, but not as bad. My friend was behind me yesterday, described it as my van twerking. As soon as I hit the throttle, it stops. Engine seems to be surging, kind of a ruh ruh ruh.
Edit: I spoke too soon. 171 174 came back. Fuel filter next, then reevaluate.
It sounds like there is a sucking sound near the throttle body. I checked the intake track as best as I could under the hood. Need to take the doghouse off to inspect it from the other side. I couldn't locate where exactly the sound is coming from.
Not sure if this helps, but when I removed the air filter assembly to look for a noise, the idle went erratic. I looked at the seal where the filter fits, and it was not very airtight. Some work on that big hoseclamp thing and I got a better seal, and the idle is good again.
That sucking noise, I think is normal - the throttle plate being slightly open, or the IAC letting air through will create noise. But keep looking, you never know
I think it fell apart when I moved the other end of the PCV hose, while doing the spark plugs. This is what it looks like after I got it off. I had to use needle nose pliers to grab it, it didn't want to come off. So the hole is probably from me using the pliers, the rest is it falling apart. I highly recommend taking the throttle cable bracket off first to make your life easier. I couldn't get the new hose back in, until I unbolted that bracket.
I wonder if my van V10 has that hose... it’s old and high mileage and so far everything but the shocks and air filter and wiper blades seem to have been original.
