I want to set it up as a tow vehicle. With a 460 in it, it would be rough on gas. I'm picking up a 2000 e350 ambulance with a 7.3 diesel on Sunday, planning on setting the body on the ambulance chassis
That's what I'm hoping for, would like to retire in the next few years and pick up older truck and restore them. This would have room for my wife and dog to travel with me without a truck payment, and worry about when the egr system is going to screw up
Y not a 6.9 instead? Hear the 6.9 is the 1 to have if goin ford (well, IH)...
or cummins/allison? that seems the ultimate (not a diesel guy here, just tryin 2 learn)
Luv the Centerions (not the "bronco' tho).
I like that the top 3 threads right now are all Centurions.
Definitely curious how much of an adventure transferring the running gear is. My 86 has a frame stretch in the middle and I measured the wheelbase at 157" which is awfully close to the 158" of cutaway frames - and could actually be 158 due to measurement error. I'm curious how the pre-1992 cab lines up with the post 1992 frame.
The ambulance has the 7.3 powerstroke, I figured the 7.3 with the turbo would have more power. The ambulance doesn't have a inner cooler so I picked one up out of a 99 F350
