I use two e-track wood end sockets to hold a piece of 2 x 6 pressure treated limber between the box link brackets. I use it to keep rubber maid bins from sliding to the front of the bed.
Any e track accessory will fir in the box link bracket.
Would you happen to have a picture of these in use in the box link? I'm about to make a longer trip this afternoon with a couple 50 gallon plastic totes in the bed and would like to keep them from sliding, and would like to see how these mount in.
I don't have a picture. But the e-track devices will fit into the anchor holes of the box links. Remove the cleats, and e track fits into the anchors vertically. Do a google search for e track accessories and you will see the different attachment devices. Also, how to use these devices.
Recently installed a bed cover and found this thread. Borrowed a couple ideas using a 2x6 I already had.
Had these hooks laying around from a past project.
Flip the board so they’re on the back and can use them for bungees to strap items in place.
Flip the board so they’re on the front and they could potentially keep items from sliding.
The top of the hook is mounted 1/2” below the top of the board. This lets the board hang on the boxlink brackets without resting onto of the wheel well.
I mounted the hooks far enough apart that the board won’t slide fore/aft while driving.
With those little ribs in the lower rear quarter of the bed..... You can mount one like this. It is called the "Conifer Keeper". I can have one fabricated for you for about $94.95 (I need to check my son's rates). $10 flat rate shipping in the US. I am still waiting on the specs but so far it has held anything I needed, no problem. The nice thing is that it's highly removable. Also, replacements can be purchased by existing customers at nearly 50% discount... .$49.95. Anyway, send me a msg if interested.
Thats what I use. I call it grocery board so I don’t have to go chasing stuff at the front of the bed.
I also did the @Jeep Puller mod of using a hole cutter but instead of using bolts I had some steel rod I used for anchor points. This time of the year I have a shovel strapped to the other side of the grocery board soI can quickly access it.
Used a piece of scrap oak laminated from an old door for the one I used in my 2016. Had to add about 3/8 strip to make it fit in the 2023. But it’s only about 5” tall. Have a scrap of 2x10 to make a new one for the 2023. Plan on making it a bit better looking and with more “options”. One is a moveable divider to keep items from sliding sideways. Some good ideas here. Also have some 1x12 oak from a tree I had slabbed years ago, but hard to justify using the oak even if it would look awesome.
Just install the F150 bed extender. Two rivnuts - you need the ones that expand enough to fill the factory holes or wrap regular ones with foil tape. One pic is the F450 with them collapsed to the side and the other is the previous RAM with the same bed extender. The Chineese version is about $150 on eBay or Amazon. I've done the last four trucks and these fit everything. I think its an 10M or 12M (almost sure 10M) rivnut.
