While I was out driving today listening to music off my iPhone via Bluetooth on Sync3, the song started to skip, as if it were an old record on a turntable. I tried skipping ahead to the next song and nothing happened, and I tried closing the music app on my phone and that didn't work, either. The note the song was stuck on continued to loop for about 30 seconds then the entire Sync3 screen went black. It was off for about another 30 seconds then seemed to reset itself. The Ford logo popped on the screen and it booted up just like it would have if I just started the truck, but I was in motion and had been on the road for about 40 minutes at this point.
That is pretty weird but at least it came back online.
Do you know what version of Sync 3 you are on? I know v3.0 is supposed to be out now for many cars - should be available for our trucks very soon!
My Sync 3 does all sort of crazy stuff. Sometimes it just locks up, sometimes it drops the Bluetooth and won't reconnect, sometimes it mutes all sound. Usually it fixes itself if I turn off the truck for a minute and restart it (open and close door as well). A couple of times I had to disconnect the battery to get it to work again. Next time I'm at the dealer, I'm going to fight for a new Sync unit. It has acted up since new.

What happened? Has this happened to anyone else?
Sounds like a typical computer glitch that is not common but it can and has happened before with the SYNC system but i`ll say it`s nothing to worry about unless it keeps happening.
No different than when your phone or computer locks up and most of the time, a simple reboot clears up the problem and based on what you mentioned, your SYNC system rebooted itself and everything returned to normal.
Also, even though the system fixed itself, if I were you, i`d also do a Master Reset on the SYNC system but just remember if or when you do this, any and all info you`ve stored in SYNC will be erased.
So can I get some clarification as to what the latest version of Sync3 is that's out there that I should have? As I mentioned I have a '17 and it has nav., and it said I have version 2.0. I have wifi updates turned on with a decent connection to my home router and it says no updates are available when I do the scan for them.
mine has done it as well. Only owned the truck 4 days and it did it on the way home from the dealership. Not a great way to start the relationship...hasn't done it since so I'm hoping it's getting the jitters worked out (fingers crossed).
