wow....originally I thought this whole forum was incorrectly labled...I thought it was almost an insult that the only way politics and religion could be openly discussed was in a "mudslinging" fasion as Ken labeled this forum.... when it was introduced as the pig pen ....I though "wow...kind of an insult" I wonder how many will use it...and who would want to moderate a forum with such a degrading title.... but the more I read...the more I find that Ken might have been right on in both his name of the forum and its description....
Feel free to label me as you wish if it helps you.
I object to some of the blatant butt kissing going on around here by people trying to get in good with Ken and reach for power. Is that a Conservative thing? I'm not sure
Waxy
Now who is labeling? Could you give me some examples of this blatant butt kissing you are refering to?
We apparently are way too good at our tongue technique. I wasn't aware that I was kissing up in public and I assure you that I have not contacted Ken privately.
Why is that when I say something about liberals you say I'm using lables and when you say something about conservatives and I respond, you say it is "tongue in cheek"? Further, if I make a tongue in cheek comment about being a moderator you accuse me of kissing up?
I just re-read the forum rules set down by Greywolf. I did indirectly call you a liberal and I apologize for that.

Ken asked for volunteers. I stated I may or may not be elligible due to what the hours required may be. If this is considered butt kissing by volunteering, I guess it proves that someone could ask about the weather and start a flame war. LOL!
Reaching for power? That's funny. I moderate my own group forum, alone, in Yahoo. I don't enjoy having to boot someone from my group and give several chances for a person to clean up their act. In 5 years I have banned two people. I'd rather work through some issue than just say,"bye, bye!" A lot of good people could be booted if not spoken with and allowed a chance to work things out in an adult manner. Me for example. Dennis helped me to understand the rules, calmed me down to a rational conversation and since, I have enjoyed FTE very nicely.
It's going to be obvious that whoever takes the Pig Pen on is going to have their work cut out for them.

Waxy, How would they know you were available if you didn't throw your hat in the ring? Making your avaiability known isn't necissarily butt kissing, but it could be in some cases.
Why would anyone want to moderate a forum with the phrase "mud-slinging" in its description? You couldn't pay me enough money to deal with that. Reading it is fun, but controlling it? No thank you...
Im with Colossus, I think it would be way too much work to moderate this one. I got much respect for whomever takes this job, seeing how heated the political debates got in general coversation. Now that it has its own special place...is it getting hot in here?
Can I just volunteer not to moderate anything? I would make a totally lousy moderator due to the fact I am intending to go walkabout any time now, and not be around for heaven knows how long.. (I may get bored in a week and crawl home.)
I think I will withdraw my volunteer for the moderator. From the sarcasm already seen concerning just the asking for volunteers, I must have been out of my mind for a second or four. Thanks for thinking of asking though. Who ever takes the job needs to be ready for flames and personal attacks. lol... I get enough of that at home!
