Hey everyone! I'm looking into the heidts 4 link set up for my 1955 f100. I've seen a few forums where they used this set up with an 8.8 axle, but when I search the part number I need for direct fit, it says only for ford 8" and 9" housings. So will the 8.8 fit? Or will I need to modify the bracket system that holds the axle?
i would really like to use this axle where as it's totally rebuilt already and has the gear ratio im looking for.
If the axles tubes are different sizes you will have to account for that in the brackets. I think the pan hard rod is also designed to bolt to the front of the axle where the drop out center section is held on for an 8/9 inch ford, so you would need to figure out another way to attach it to the 8.8.

so i wonder if I'll need to make new ones or just modify the brackets that come with it. And I'll have to figure out the Pan hard rod. I've never done a 4 link before so this should be interesting. I can't seem to find another set up for the 8.8

I believe that paul horton welder series makes a few different kits for the 8.8, though they are universal so they might need just as much work as modifying the heidts kit.
i have the TCi four link, not sure how it differes from heidts but i had to open the mounts that weld to the axle tube a little to make them the right dianmeter for the 8.8 .
you need the weld the bracket on the axle
The bolt on bracket only work with the 8 or 9 inch axle
If you read it on their site the link to the bracket you need is in the text
