New design fuel delivery module?
I'm looking at replacing a bad fuel sender in the midship tank om my '95 F150 XLT SC, 5.0/E4OD. Since it's got 10k miles, I'm also considering replacement of the the FDM (it's noisy, although not as noisy as it was for 3-4 years). I called a local Ford dealer and was informed there is a new design FDM, for which they want $251.68, plus it requires a wiring harness adapter, for $21. Has anybody heard of this new design FDM, and what's different (new and improved) about it? Is it just a later style unit (my thought, since it needs an adapter)?
I'll call around for prices on a Carter unit, as well.
