I'm looking at purchasing a grain truck from my neighbor and was wondering what year F700 truck have inter-changeable body parts and also if the interior parts like the seat or floor covering inter-change with like a F150 of the same year? Thanks, Dan
He covers a lot of info as to what interchanges and what doesn't. But a quick rundown as I remember it. Exterior looks the same. I believe doors are interchangeable. interior, not so much. The dash looks like a dash in a bump, and I believe can use parts sourced there. floor is differnt, so don't believe seats will work, or mats.
How'd you know his name is Dan?
I think the hood is the same except for the "FORD" nomenclature on its front.
The doors will probably interchange, but for better or worse, they have the 'old style' outside door handles with the grab-handle and push button, unlike the '73-'79 F100-F350s, which have the fancy '70s style one-piece handle which you simply pull up to release. I think the F500-and-up doors would look cool on a pick-up. The difference would be so subtle that most people would never notice. You could also use the smaller trucks' doors on the larger trucks, for a nice custom touch.
The fenders and grill are obviously different.
And I've read that the cab mounts are different on the front of the cab.
Firewall might be different too.
The Bumpside dash is cool, because you get those cool big-truck gauges!
(Which are the same as the '67-'68 Cougar XR7?)
