They are safe. They've been used for years, and are still used today. Also budd style rims aren't as safe unless mounted to strict mounting proceedures. To each there own though. Still enjoy that truck.
Ok I have the truck running but the carb was spilling fuel all over the place. Having the carb professionally rebuild, I do not know much about Holley. I just need to start finding the parts to rebuild the steps, any idea where to look?

Ok, so now the carb has been rebuilt and installed. Went to start the truck and all I got was a click. Now I am thinking it is the solenoid or the starter. So now I need to find the starter number. Hoping it is just the solenoid, much cheaper to replace.
Ok so I have determined the starter is bad and need to replace it. Looking for a part number is tough. I also have a question. I am seeing anti freeze dripping from around the oil pan. I have no clue where it is coming from. Getting discouraged right now.
Could be just a water pump showing signs the seals are going and dripping down towards the pan or a minor coolant leak from elsewhere making its way down around the sump gasket lip.
If its the dreaded coolant in the oil check for other signs like oil in the radiator or higher oil mark on the dipstick.
Loosen the sump plug a little and see if coolant leaks out first.
Ok so I have determined the starter is bad and need to replace it. Looking for a part number is tough. Looking for the part number is EZ if you have the parts catalog. Looking for a NOS starter is tough, because no one has any.
