I have a 1998 Ford Explorer Eddie edition that has an Illinois Rebuilt title, on Saturday 9/23/17 someone jumped the curb went through the grass and smacked the back of my truck where it was parked in front of my house, I have the police report and their insurance information will there be any problems being the title is rebuilt. thought maybe someone would know here
You should be "made whole" by that fellow's insurance company. That means you get the value of your truck as it sat when smacked.
Generally a rebuilt title vehicle has a lower value. If you did work to it or added things, you can ask for more but expect to be asked to prove what you paid to add value.
I am not sure if they can deny my claim because of a rebuilt title, I have been told they can also have been told it just makes the value 20 to 40% lower.
I would suggest you talk to the insurance company and negotiate with them.
You know what you paid, what you added, what a KBB or other fine auto value site says and you seem to think it might have a 20%+ haircut due to being a rebuilt. I think from all that you can figure a number to have in mind when you talk to them.
