Just thought I'd throw this out there since I'm sure I'm not the first to get rock chips in my new truck. I ordered a touch up kit from Dr. Color chip about 2 weeks ago and it finally showed up today! So I got after it, there's a few videos on YouTube and it's a pretty simple process, it's expensive ($45 delivered I think) but I'm pretty happy with the results, it came out smooth and matched about as good as touch up will with ruby red, so here's a couple pics but keep in mind the camera does a pretty good job of making it look better than it really is.
About 6' back you REALLY have to know what you're looking for I should've taken better beore pics but its pretty good sized and DEEP
I bought my truck in July. Super thin paint. In fact so thin, you can actually see the primer showing through the Oxford White in some areas. Particularly on the hood where the Super Duty letters are stamped.
Ok, I don't mean to discount your truck, I have one on order, but I noticed the fender is sticking out abnormally.
If my truck shows up like that it will not be accepted, but the issue seems to be far and few in between, as all the ones I've seen seem to be flush. I'd let your dealer know about it.
The paint isn't as durable like the older vehicles due to thinner coats and environmentally friendly solvents, reagardless of brand. The repair you did looks very nice. I'll probably pick up a can for my color.
