I've got a 2015 and the driver's side rear brake light continues to burn out. The first time I went to change it I noticed the socket was discolored as if it had gotten too hot. I replaced the bulb but didn't look into the real problem at the time. Yesterday I noticed it had gone out again. I took out the bulb and it looks like the socket is worse than it was. I assume there is extra heat being generated somehow that is essentially burning the socket.
Anyone else have this issue? Any idea of a proper fix?
The bulb doesn't look burned out. The filament still looks good. It's only on the drivers side rear. Passenger side has never gone out and isn't discolored.
I'll buy a new bulb and replace it this afternoon and see if it works but I'm concerned about the socket and the true issue. I'm sure I can get a new socket but not sure that will fix the issue.
I am passed the warranty. The first time it happened was just over 36,000. I thought maybe it was a bad bulb. Apparently more than that but I'm now even further beyond the warranty.

Get an ohmeter and make sure you have 12v on one pin and ground on the other.
I had a bad bulb and found the socket discolored from the heat.
Changed everything to LEDs, no more heat.
