Last night I fired up the truck for the drive home about 10:30, outside temp was about 60 degrees, the engine was cold and had been parked over 5 hours.
I noticed that the RPMs were going up and down, 500 to almost 1000, as I let it warm up. Sort of like easing your foot on the go pedal then letting off in a rhythmic pattern. After what seemed like forever, actually about 3 minutes, this stopped and it settled down at it’s usual 750 RPMs.
Wanting to get home I put it in reverse and started to back out of the tight parking area. The erratic idle started again. I noticed it once more at a stop light a mile down the road.
Is this the “Romp” I have read about, but can’t define what it is? Or is this something new and improved that got added when they reflashed it 2 weeks ago?
Either way if it continues I will be back at the shop …………… this is bull, it almost caused me to run over a lady in a wheelchair when I was backing out. I thought it had stopped.
