A little preface, 06 6l. Truck was idling and I accelerated to around 1500 rpm and it shut down. A decent amount of white smoke as well. I had recently been into the passenger side valve cover.
Via snap on verus, .24icpv and this never changes during cranking , 0 ICP, ipr goes from 15% KOEO to immediately 85% while cranking. Low pressure oil comes up. Initially I thought major leak somewhere? Updates were done in early 13. I put shop air on it, and get what I call normal air flow noise, a swoosh maybe. Command ipr with an external 12v and absolutely no change in airflow sound. This in itself leads me to think ipr. I'm attaching a YouTube link to a video of air being applied.
I also manually filled the rail with oil before applying air and had no obvious spurts of oil externally.
That's what I'm leaning to. I'm going to pull it out this evening. Did you watch the video? Is that sound "normal" for the system? I can't hear anything external, and it would make sense if the ipr is actually full closed and dumping everything back into the sump. Thanks for your reply.
