Mind you I have an XL, but I wonder if it is because all four bulbs are lit up on low beam. People just assume it is on high. However when I was towing, and the rear of my truck was a little saggy, other drivers were hitting me with their brights non stop.
I get flashed at least once everyday. It happens most often in early morning on way to work. IMHO people around me associate the four constant beams with the High beam setting. I find great pleasure in showing them what the quad-beam headlights really look like on high beam when they flash me.
DHR-wasnt trying to call you a jerk. Actually, for you it’s quite the opposite. You noticed an abnormal/unusual indication and took action on it to find out more and fix it. I think that’s what we’re all about. The jerk is the one who knows and does nothing about it.
I checked mine today and found they were a little high. I have 1” leveling spacers up front and airbags in back (F450), and empty it sits about the same as stock. I had to turn both lights one full turn clockwise/tighten (down) to get them to spec. The screw feels a little “plasticy”, but I wiggled it a little at first and then it rotated just fine. I’ll do it again next time I’m fully loaded, will probably need another turn. Took me all of 3 minutes, including a break for a beer.
Kinda looking forward to getting flashed again. I used to get flashed when I had my 2004 Chev 2500HD. The lights light up the road. Had an idiot one time swing around behind and high beam me on my tail. He didn't think it was funny when I did it and then actually hit my high beams as he sped out of sight. The headlamps on my 2015 GMC 2500HD light absolutely suck. If it is dark and raining... you can't see anything. So if my 2017 F350 (October 2nd build) actually lights up the road... then I am happy and will take the occasional flash.
i cans ay that just last night i was driving toward a new '17 with halogens and thought their brights were on. I was darn near completely blinded form them. I figuring they must have been the brights, because i was in my superduty which sits pretty darn high with the x-code springs.

It's all good. I hate writing/ texting it always come off wrong.haha.
I lowered them down 1 full turn tonight and didn't get flashed but I could still see the glow of their little faces.lol. We will see.maybe a half turn more.
Replaced my halogens with vanquish leds. I get flashed every night. The good thing is I have a dash camera so if anyone feels tough to brake check or confront me i have proof.
That is because you put bulbs in a housing that were never designed for it and are literally blinding other drivers. You sir, desire to be flashed, and ticketed...

Guys - Just check your darn headlight aim. It is too easy not to do it yourself. There is no "luck" that people haven't flashed you, and there is no "it's the other person's fault" or "they aren't too high, it's just 4 bulbs". If drivers are flashing you and you have not verified the aim while in a loaded condition, it is you! If you have done anything to the truck to change it's stock unloaded suspension, you owe it to your own safety to check them. Leveling kit, trailer, heavy toolboxes - just do a quick check.
You don't need anything special. You really don't even need a tape measure. Find a wall and a flat parking spot. If your driveway is not flat, go to the side lot of Kmart (there are never any cars there anyway) and pull near the building. 25 feet is just over one truck length. Exact measurement is not necessary. Just rough it. Grab a tape measure, a stick, a tie down - anything that you can hold next to your headlight and mark the bulb position from the ground. Now, walk to the wall and put a piece of tape, a mark, or note the brick line that is the same as your headlight bulb, etc. Throw a jacket over one headlight, aim the other. Switch the jacket, do the other side. It is a simple one Phillips head screw adjustment that is readily accessible right on the top of the light.
Doing this empty/unloaded is not good enough if you tow/haul heavy. When you are fully loaded and the truck is the least maneuverable is not the time to be blinding oncoming drivers and risking a deadly collision. Do this simple check loaded, adjust your lights to a safe spot, and then don't worry about it. Once you are unloaded, yes your lights will be a hair lower than necessary, but they will still throw plenty of light - no need to readjust them back up.

Anyone else get flashed by other cars or trucks for your headlight?
This is starting to **** me off. I went a couple miles at night and had 5 people flash me for having my high beams on, which I didn't! So I hit them back. And some of these idiots flash me even after they see my high beams and I turn them to low. I turned off the little driving lights but it still happened.Aggravating. I don't want to start messing with the adjustment but it's getting old.
Check the NHTSA web site. Ford has recalled 217,185 F-150 Trucks for faulty headlights. It sounds like the DRL lights and Headlights are both on at the same time. Ford is supposed to be able to reprogram the controller on this recall. Hope this helps.
Check with Ford about a recall on F-150 Trucks for headlight problems . They have a recall reference number '20C03' on 217,185 F150's made from 2017 to 2020 for the problem you described.
I meet many Super Duties on the highway in the early morning darkness. Maybe it's just because I'm on my third one of this model and I'm aware that 4 headlight are always on. But the halogen equipped trucks really don't blind me or seem any more offensive than any other vehicle out there when I meet them head on.
But I do know that it never hurts to check the adjustment, especially if you convert a halogen housing to LED. The 2017 I previously owned was adjusted to max height right off the dealer's lot and I had to lower them, especially after going to Beamtech bulbs.
