Continuous EGT's With No Harm?

What is the maximum EGT that a 6.0L will run at continuously with no damage. I know the lower the better but am wondering at what maximum temp will they run at with no problems for a long time.
Thanks,

1250f is generally the highest sustained EGT you'll want to run. If you are running a more aggressive tune with additional timing (not recommended,) 1200f is the max you want to sustain. Brief peaks above 1300f or even 1400f aren't something to worry about if it is just a few seconds.

A wise man told me once (matt at gearhead)

1200 all day
1400 for up to 10 min
1600 a few seconds max

With a stock truck you shouldn't see anything above 1300...I never did but I was straight pipe

Good advice in both posts above and is what I follow. I tow a lot anywhere between 5-25k #'s with a truck that's almost 10k#'s by itself with stock head bolts @ +174k miles on a Gearhead's 10k Tow Tune.

This is what I live by too. I hate to think about the days when I didn't have gauges

That makes two of us Tim

With the combo I'm running now and matt's full fuel tunes re-written, the temps get up there QUICK!
