And they are not as primitive as the yurts you'd see on steppes of Mongolia.

Well, like I said, these are not yurts like you find on the Mongolian steppes. It is shaped like a yurt but it is not made of fabric or rug. The website says it has wooden and canvas walls with Windows. But big enough for a seminar.

Here's a picture of my '49 as it sits today.
I've got ten months to get it finished and on the road to Pennsylvania.
The cab and front clip are taking a nap at a body shop waiting for the owner to get around to painting them.
The bed needs some serious panel patching and straightening. It's been sandblasted and I'm looking around the area to find a guy who can tackle that job.
With an unheated garage and a long cold winter on the doorstep, I'll have to get my butt in gear next spring, huh?
p.s - the single axle trailer in the background is where the snow melt contest was held.

Your chassis and engine look great. I hope your body man gets his butt in gear.
Any FTE member in the Northeast thinking about coming to the Central PA Mountain Truckstock at the Bald Eagle State Park near Milesburg PA, let me know here. And you better reserve your camping space, cabin, yurt, or hotel room soon before they are booked.
Read this thread from the beginning for the details. It will be fun.... Ford truck fun.

Looks good pineconeford. . But. I would just replace that front panel. They are not that expensive and they make a big difference in the structural integrity of the box. I finally gave up on mine as it was bent and abused. I think a PO must gave hauled old engine blocks across potholes.

Tom - you can fix that front panel. I had never done any sheet metal work but could not find a bed for the F3 so went to work. I made mistakes that had to be corrected but not that hard to get decent driver quality results. If you are looking for show quality go new, if not try it. I actually had fun and mine were in a lot worse shape than yours.

Thanks for the encouragement Dave, that F3 bed of mine will need some work but it isn't impossible. Finding someone to do the work is that hard part around here. I don't have any welding equipment and am holding off learning that until I get a bigger garage some day - and more time for such things. The guy who repaired my '51 bed that looked exactly like yours did was a wizard and made it look better than new. But he has given up on welding (sad as Monet throwing away his paintbrushes) so I'll have to find someone else.
It snowed today so no more working in the driveway until next May. I'm still going to work like heck to get this truck on the road for next September.
Hope to see you at the State Park?
