grills and guards

hey fellas,
since i just got my 99 ford explorer xlt, i wanted to change the grill, i was wondering...what good prices and brands are out there. should i go chrome or stainless...does it really make a difference? assembly hard?
and i was thinking about a grill guard...what are your thoughts on that? chrome? black?

btw i drive an all black explorer...with a silver bumber
thanks

It is my opinion that you should go with a stainless steel grill because I have heard that they are less maintenance (just what i have heard, no expert) and as for your grill guard question, I DO know a little about this, if your explorer isn't 4X4 i wouldn't go looking for a humungous if i hit you ur goin down! grill guard because of your suspension. Possibly a small aluminum grill guard for looks or stronger suspension added because it makes your stock suspension work alot harder to hold up a big @ss grill guard. Good Luck!
