In over my head?
I might be in over my head, but here's the plan. I have had a '93 Ranger XLT, 2.3, 5-speed, for a while now. The truck is wrecked (cab not fixable). Now I have aquired a '94 Ranger XL, same drive train. I don't think there will be any problem swapping the drive train from the '93 to the '94, but now it gets complicated. The '94 is gutted inside with the exception of the instrument panel (no tach), and the steering column. The '93 is complete inside including tach and A/C. I'm planning on stripping the '94 and using the wiring harness from the '93. The entire heater assembly will be removed and replaced with the heater/AC system from the '93. I've never attempted anything like this before and I sure hope I don't mess it up. I'm looking for any suggestions to try to make this as easy as it can possibly get, and maybe a few words of encouragement. Am I going to run into trouble that I can't deal with? If there is anything that I forgot to address please let me know.
).And try and track down a Ford Factory Manual or a Helm Manual for the '93-'94 Ranger ..you can find them on eBay (for example) for cheap..they are much more thorough with respect to wiring and harness connections and sensors and all that kind of good stuff.

'93 and '94 Rangers are pretty much identical...the only difference I am aware of is with respect to the 3.0L vulcan engine (Ford starting equipping them with an EGR/DPFE systems beginning March, 1993).
Good luck and try and post some of the pics!
