Hey everyone- I'm a new member- I have a "98 150 reg cab step 4.6 XLT 4X2 (STX)- it's very clean, but, a work / everyday truck- ( just sold my "03 supercab FX4-great truck, don't ask) - I'm considering a drop, looking at Bellteck 2/4" kit and Ground force 2.5/4"kit-- I do have 4.5" from tire to arch in front and 6" in back so the Ground-force might bring the truck closer to level- I'm concerned about ride quality w/ the supplied springs - also are the shocks supplied w/ the kit tough enough for a "truck"- after all this is only a Lightning wannabe- still need to throw the tools in the back- I would appreciate it, if anyone has had any experience with either of these drops, would you supply any info and help me out- thanks in advance and for all the good stuff in the past--Peter
It seems that dropped trucks arent all tha popular on here but if you do a search with the search button near the top of the page you will probably find some info. There was a discussion on lowering just a couple weeks ago. Good luck
Thanks for your honest reply Racerguy- I have to admit , I'm a bit dissapointed- I know I'm new so excuse me, but I thought this was a Ford truck enthusiast's forum, I was hoping for some good feedback from some "enthusiastic" Ford truck owners. Reading some old posts as you suggested, I was surprized to read someone else considering a drop getting the biz-" if you drop it it's a car" etc. By that logic I guess that Volvo suv next to me on the highway, as high as my 150, is realy a truck...I consider myself a true enthusiast- I enjoy all aspects of many types of vehicles, racing/classic/off-road etc.I admit that as far as trucks go, I would rather watch a NASCAR TRUCK circle a track at 180mph than a monster crush a car but I could easily watch and talk about both and admire the engineering and teck involved in making them perform.I know this isn't a dedicated Lightning forum - but a Lightning is a ford truck ( I know, it's kinda low) and an impressive one at that- keeping up with C5s in the straights and curves-I realy think you guys are missing out - raised stone-crusher-high or dropped to the dirt it's all good!!! Just have fun-
Thanks anyway- Flylow
I agree about how much fun it is going around corners. That's why I race a stock car
I dont see anything wrong with lowered trucks but I really hate trucks that have been "riced".
Have you snooped around the Lightning forum on here too?
