I just had my 5.4 out of my 97 f-150 rebuilt and now I'm not getting any spark. I pulled the crank sensor out and the ring is lined up in the hole. I'm not sure what to check next. All I know is there is no voltage going to the coils. What besides crank and cam sensors fires coils? This has the coils over the plugs. Any help is greatly appreciated
Are both the cam and crank position sensors plugged in?
Hopefully whoever rebuilt it didnt forget to put the trigger gear on the end of the crank before they installed the timing cover.
Have you checked for 12 volts at the red/light green wire at each coil?
#30 fuse in the underhood fuse box is for the ignition. Check it too.
well i got it figured out after about 6 hours of frustration . When I put the harness together at the connector the pin for the crank sensor wasn't exactly lined up, so the pin bent inside and shorted to the other pin for the crank sensor. What a pain in the a **. I finally found it after inspecting the inside of the connector with a mirror. It never threw any codes. Runs good now though Thanks guys
