Cracked Fog Lights? 2016 SCREW Platinum

I have a 2016 F-150 SCREW with the 3.5 Ecoboost. It has ~28,000 miles on it.

I noticed today that both of my fog lamps are cracked in very similar ways. The outer surface of the lenses feels smooth - it doesn’t seem like they were hit - but I’m not sure.

I am going through a pretty terrible divorce so I wouldn’t put such a thing past my soon-to-be-ex-wife but there is no other obvious damage to the truck anywhere.

It honestly looks to me like stress cracking from heat cycling. Has anybody else had their lenses crack?

Thanks!

Driver side cracked fog lamp.
Passenger side cracked fog lamp.

Dealer wants $50/each for new. Looking at LED replacements and came across this: https://store.ijdmtoy.com/Ford-F-150...s-p/70-217.htm

These seem nicer but are way more expensive:

Looking for something that doesn’t require modification to fit. Open to suggestions.

Do you drive around with your fog lights on all the time?

I was a bit disappointed when I first installed them until I figured out they need to be aimed quite a bit higher than the stock fogs. The vertical beam is very, VERY narrow. These end up being aimed almost level to the road, and they cast a very wide beam; covering the entire road.

Installation was plug and play. The only difficulty is getting out the old module. You need to use a very thin screwdriver in to depress the side tab(s). Then they just slide out. The new units just snap right in.

2017 SuperDuty Platinum OEM LED fog lights bolt right in and they`ll match your LED Headlights or you can go with the Morimoto XB`s which are also a bolt in without any modifications.

Hope this helps you out.

Very nice. I'll have to get a part number for them. I'm a big fan of OEM looks.

The part# for the drivers side is HC3Z-15201-B and the passenger side part# is HC3Z-15200-B

From Fairway Ford on their eBay website, the cost is $179.95 per side or $344.95 for the pair.

PalmCoastFord also has an eBay website and their selling them for $175.95 per side or $342.95 for the pair.

When you look at them on their eBay website, disregard the housing that the fog lights are in because all you have to do is remove them from that plastic housing and install them in place of your stock halogen for lights.

Yes, the OEM LED fog lights are a little pricey but keep checking eBay because every now and then, a pair will pop up for a great price and if you see them, jump right on it because they don`t last long.

I got lucky a few months back and a brand new pair popped up on eBay from someone who was replacing their front bumper and he sold them to me for $110.00 for the pair.

Hope this helps.

I was just wondering why these aren't being covered under the 3/36,000 warranty? It seems based on the year and mileage listed you are under the threshold?

It seems that I'd have to prove to Ford that they broke on their own and were not damaged by rocks / a vandalism and it's extremely hard to prove a negative.

All they tell me is, "We've never seen this before or any reports of it."

There are other forums that have several threads on this problem. I would try to get the dealer to replace them.

I have my lights in auto and keep the fogs to come on when headlights come on, no problem.

I haven’t seen anything on it. Do you have any links handy?
