Unhappy Exhausted.

Trying to decide on an exhaust kit. Im looking at the Diamond eye kit for my 97 PSD, the kit doesnt say if its stainles or not, or what kind of muffler it comes with. I think mine has a cat, keep it or loos it, I live in central CA. Second ? does the down pipe have or need a heat shield? Aneyone Know.

Where is a good place to buy a Tymar air filter and is it a better choice than the AFE?

I realy appreciate everyone information.

Exhausted.

Aluminized exhaust systems from the down pipe back run $350-$500.00. Stainless systems run $700-$1200. That should tell if you it's aluminzed or SS.

I believe CA requires the cat. Some systems offer a pipe where your cat goes and then you can re-install the cat when needed.

Heat shields are already in place under your truck. Not sure how many your truck has but they are riveted or bolted in place at the factory.

I am installing a complete Diamond Eye system on my 2002 this weekend.

Tymar systems are availble at a variety of diesel supply sites. The Tymar web site is under construction right now but you can contact via e-mail.

Exhausted.

Thanks for the support! lololo
I just purchased the stainless steel 4" exhaust bands from NAPA yesterday. Looks as if these straps will make it much easier to line up and install the exhaust then using the provided "C" clamps. I will have to utilize some of the "C" clamps since they have the hangars welded on them.
I'll let you all know how it goes.
(I'm surprised most of you haven't already done this?)
