I know this may not be the correct forum but I like the group of people here and value their knowlege because they are often involved in similar lines of work that I am.
I find myself unable to see any tools in my toolbox at night when I am working. I have a regular steel Rawson Keonig toolbox in my bed with a single lid. I am wondering if anyone has ever installed a light inside and wired it to 12v somewhere on the truck.
What kind of light would withstand a lot of vibrations back there but still put out ample light? It also has to run off of 12v. Just wondering if anyone has ever tried this before or has any ideas.
call 1-800-toolbox AKA Highway products. Their single lid toolbox comes with a in box light that is wired into the 12v system. Maybe you can buy one of theirs or www.1800toolbox.com
I had thought about the underhood lights before and I guess they'll most likely be the best bet. No switches and they are readily available and inexpensive. I liked that Bedlighter idea, but they are a little on the expensive side.
I know some GM vehicles had an underhood light that you could pull out and carry around with you and then reel it back up. That might work good as a second non-stationary light source. Well I'll have to see what I can rig up.
