Vibration at 50+ mph

We recently purchased a 1995 F250 four wheel drive powerstroke to pull our travel trailer. The truck is awesome!
We were towing a couple of weeks ago and heard something fall off the truck. It seemed to come from the engine compartment near the firewall. We could hear and feel it hit against the firewall a couple of times. We were towing our trailer at the time and it was not safe to stop and look for what fell off.
Anyway, the truck immediately started to vibrate at about 50+ mph. The vibration is not releated to the engine speed and there is no loss in power. I can't see anything that is missing. It feels like maybe an anti-rattle exhaust bracket or something?
Any ideas?
Thanks!
Mike
Good news: I found out I had the front hubs turn in, so I was in four wheel drive (not the transfercase, but the front end). I think that was the vibration problem. Probably not good to have the front driveline turning at 50+ mph!
Bad news: Before I test drove the truck in two wheel drive to see if that was indeed the vibration, I decided to change the glow plugs and now the truck won't start !
I have worked on cars for the past 20 years and have done it all from engine rebuilds to complete engine, transmission changeovers. But, this diesel has got me stumped! I have never taken my car to a mechanic (unless it was under the new car warranty). This is driving me crazy!
Are there any good manuals or books that I could get to understand how my PSD works?
Thanks!
Mike
