RedHead Ram Cylinder install?
I finally got one of these components. I already have the Bendix valve on there. Do you guys know if there is a recommended way of installing this 1974-1977 Ford F-250-F-350 4x4 Ram Cylinder? Like is there a good way to plug this thing in and go, should I just install and pour fluid into the pump and turn the wheel all the way to the right and left and roll down the road? I've never installed one of these things, but it looks pretty basic.
Thanks!
Bendix Power Assist P/S: 1974 F250 4WD from serial number T80,001; 1975/76 F250 4WD; 1977 F250 4WD before serial number Y20,001.
Pic shows both Garrison & Bendix Power Assist P/S .. The 3C590 ram bushing mounting kit (D3TZ-3C590-A) is the same for both and is available from Ford.
Always a wealth of knowledge. I have the bushing kit and should be good to go to install this thing. I was just under there and it all matches up. I just didn't know how much to torque it down, or if there was any tips anyone had like if there is a special way to bleed the lines so there's no air in them or if none of that matters and I just bolt it in, pour more fluid in and run it.
