Missing HO2 Sensor?

1996 F150 Special 5.0L - P1131 Code.
Right side manifold has a plug in it where the Left side manifold has a O2 sensor in it. Code says the lean problem is with sensor 1, Bank 1 (the right side). Is this showing because there is no sensor, or is the sensor lower down somewhere?
Sure could use some advice!
Thanks.

Looks like there are potentially three - one on each manifold (2) and one at/behind the catalyst (3). Location of the third depends on if you have CA emissions or Federal. You should have an O2 sensor in each manifold, no plugs.

Code P1131 indicates that the Bank 1 (driver side) O2 sensor is not switching/correcting rich to compensate for overly lean condition. If your sensor reads lean and the PCM is trying to enrich the mixture I would suspect a cracked exhaust manifold/leaking manifold gasket.

When you say the 'right side manifold has a plug' do you mean the driver side or passenger side?

Bank 1: Passenger side or Drivers side.

Hmmm. I thought that Bank 1 was on the right (passenger) side (while sitting in the drivers seat, facing forward) - which contains cylinders 1 thru 4 & Left side being Bank 2, cylinders 5 thru 8.
Not so? Maybe I've bamboozled myself
There is no HO2 sensor there, just a plug. And I can't see any wiring near it.
Sigh.

The upstream sensor/s are a little further down form the manifold on most of these trucks so I'd say you need to have another look from underneath.

Bank1 is always the passenger side in a Ford truck too.

Vehicle left and right is always as seen from the driver's seat. I guess it wasn't a bad question to make sure he was 'seeing' it the same.
