Somebody might be of help to my problem. My 2003 king ranch if it seats overnight will not start. Replaced the battery it's good for 3 to 4 overnights then the same thing ( done this three times 3 new batteries ) Change the starter but no help. Went to 4 different shops, 3 of them ford dealerships CAN'T FIND NOTHING WRONG. Everything is ok but still the next morning won't start. I think I have tried everything but any suggestions will help. has no problem starting when jump-start. THANK YOU.
Does not turn over the battery is drained, has enough power for lights n radio tho. The battery shows 14,3 volts. If I drive a long distance 50 miles or more I have no problem starting the next morning. Thanks
you have a small battery drain somewhere... could be starter , alternator, or something in the computer system... Since you changed the starter, that probably eliminates that. You can run a test with a milliamp meter in the positive cable to battery connection and see what amps are being drawn after shut down... Then you pull fuses one at a time to see which circuit has the high amp draw. One test is to remove wires off the alternator overnight and see if it will start the next day... Short trips with lots of starts, and no extended road time to recharge the battery do not help.

If the battery still shows 14v in the morning. I would also check/replace the battery cables. They can corrode from the inside out, leaving to much resistance to restart. Considering that it can start fine with a jumper cables, look over the ground cables pretty carefully, well positive ones too & the solenoid. There is a off chance that even a new battery could have a weak cell and still show full voltage , but as soon as the load hits it falls flat. Seeing that you had 3 new batteries installed, really doubt that is the case.
Agreed, Yes, There is a possibility that you do have a parasitic draw on your electrical system over night, as Steve(ill) suggests. If that were happening, wouldn't the battery would show a voltage drop in the morning?? I agree that doing the checks/ tests as Steve(ill) mentioned. And Also short trips on a under performing alternator/ recharging system can offer starting issues. Maybe get the alternator checked, unless that has been done?
to the OP; you mentioned that you tried "Everything" to correct this. Besides taking it to 4 different garages and 3 new batteries and a starter replacement....what else was done ???
