I really need a new one my other one was broken. I really do not enjoy the ole c6 shifting until 3000 rpms. It says that its been discontinued but I don't know if the part number has been changed or not. If any one of you have one ill be happy to talk to you about buying it. Thank you.
I have been trying to find one for about a month with no luck, they used to be readily available in junk yards but not now. I did email Dorman products to see about them producing an aftermarket part and the guy emailed me back a day or 2 later and said he is researching it so anybody that needs one or would like to see an aftermarket VRV valve available email them so they know there is a need!
These are NLA, but someone was working on figuring out if GM 6.5 VRV parts can be used to repair or rebuild them. I tried selling mine to a forum member when he posted about needing one quickly, basically wanted a few bucks plus shipping but be aware it's against forum rules to buy and sell here. I ended up putting it on eBay and it went for almost $400 IIRC, a far cry from the $20 or so I would have done to help a member.
If you're in a bind and need 3rd gear to drive the the truck you could always plumb in a valve under the dash to put full vacuum to the modulator or dump it... Or there's always a manual valve body but at that point you may as well swap in a manual and enjoy much better MPG.
When you say broken are you saying it won't set as described in the instructions and you get to the note that says replace it because it won't set to 7 inches? If so, try re-calibrating the VRV itself on the bench. See my recent thread on this.

Got an email address? I'm thinking just about all of us should do it, so they know there's a pool available.
I've got friends with c6 idi's, and I'm sure a new VRV(if it was available) wouldn't be amiss.

it sets ok but the top hose nipple snapped off and everything i have tried to repair it with has failed right now i have a piece of 3/16 steel brake line shoved in it with contact cement, that seems to work ok. Also one of the ears is broken off so its held down with just one screw so it wont stay adjusted and hasnt for years. I can tell you from now on if i see one i can grab i will these things are like hens teeth!

i just went to dormans main website and clicked on contact and that allowed me to email them directly. They already make several other pieces for idi engines so that would seem a logical part to mass produce.
Yeah I noticed that when I posted it, you can trust those guys to be honest can`t cha?
Wonder where they were made, and how they got them. Only one site that has them.
Now if it was through E-Bay or Pay-Pal you might have some protection.
There is those Lazer printers (think that is what they are called) that can make
a new part exactly like the old part out of some kind of space age plastic.
Some computer program that takes all the measurements of the part,
and makes an exact copy.
The problem isn`t you can`t find the part, It`s because you are shift less.
should have a Stick.
i wonder if they bought a trailer or 10 load of parts back in the 90's for all the idi powered trucks running around in the sandbox, and now are selling off those left over unused parts.
