Spline on the shaft coming out of the steering gearbox is 3/4"-36 spline. The end of your steering column shaft doesn't look the same as the end of my ('78 tilt wheel column) shaft. On mine, that end is also 3/4"-36 spline. Looks like you have a double-D setup.
I have a Borgeson stainless steel 3/4"-36 x 3/4"-36 steering joint on my truck (no rag joint).
View from under the truck when I was installing the steering joint and the column.
I have found them on E-bay, you just have to be diligent and set a search alert for the item you're looking for or check on a regular basis. The OEM Ford design is beneficial in that it has some vibration isolation qualities and also minimizes any column misalignment issues.
Well after inquiring with the vendor I purchased steering column from I actually need to install a 3/4 solid D shape shaft inside the DD tube and then attach the U-Joint to it. I found an example photo, live and learn !
Bill - do you have a part reference for a 69 F100 4WD?
There isn't a steering coupler (rag joint) with 4WD .. These trucks have a multi-piece lower steering shaft & coupler assy. that also contains a replaceable u-joint.
1966 F100 4WD; 1967/75 F100/250 4WD: The lower steering shaft and coupler assy. connects to the input shaft of the steering gearbox w/a clamp and pinch bolt.

Thanks. I was working on something else yesterday and noticed what looked like chewed up rubber hanging out of of the joints. I'll have to take a closer look.
