I have a 2004 F350 Superduty 5.4L 2V that i just got with issues because they put a non-egr motor in. They cut the wires for egr and dpfe and rerouted coolant line and whatever else. Its officially non egr now. Everything will work. I need a VIN number for this truck that does not have egr. Ford can only get me an ecu by VIN and ive been looking for 3 months for a non-egr 5.4L 2V 4R100 Superduty ecu. Havent found a non-egr 5.4 2v v8 truck to use a vin from yet for months! Help!
I don't know why your having such a tough time finding a 5.4 without the egr, most of them do not have an egr. So far here the only year that anyone has been able to confirm they had an egr on a 2 valve gas super duty has been 1999 even the California emmsions trucks. Look under the hood at the emissions sticker that shows all the emissions equipment your truck came with from the factory and if it's California or federal emissions post a picture. First we need to know if it actually came with egr. I think a better option would be getting a SCT and getting a tune written without the egr you can also just turn off the egr with the sct but at that point your better off with a 5 star tune and the better shifting it provides too and you will likely still be cheaper than a replacement pcm. That being said I have a vin from an 04 5.4 w/a 4r100 that that I know didn't have egr. I'll give it to you if you need it but like I said we need to know what you truck really is first the picture of the emissions labels under the hood should tell us all we need to know. If the motor that was put in your truck came out of an f-150 it likely did have the emissions stuff on it and the super duty wouldn't have it so nowhere to hook it up, like I said the only 2v gas super duty that anyone here has actually confirmed or that I've seen that had an egr on was a 99.
Thank you for creating this ford forum. This is where I read and learn about my truck.
I have an F4TF-12A650-BBC ECU on my truck f150 1995 5.0 Automatic Eddie Bauer 2 door edition.
I pulled this ECU out of the truck due to following reasons:
- not start often
- the fuel pump keep spinning with key on no start
From reading, F4TF-12A650-BBC is used for 1994 truck.
Question: Can I use different ECU models like F4TF-12A650-APC or F4TF-12A650-AAA or F4TF-12A650-APA?
